NEW Accordion Thief Hardcore No-Path ASCENSION STARTED 20130128
------------------------------

This log was created by the Ascension Log Visualizer 3.7.0.
The basic idea and the format of this parser have been borrowed from the AFH MafiaLog Parser by VladimirPootin and QuantumNightmare.

Posted on request. I haven't made a 3 day HCNP attempt since the one from the previous contest, so I figured that it was an ideal time to get one in before Avatar of Jarlsberg came into play. I needed a break from Class Act anyways. Any feedback for how to improve this would be appreciated, as I'd like to complete a sub-700 turn run at some point.

===Day 1===

[0] Ascension Start [0,0,0]
+> [0] Got bucket of wine, frosty halo, shard of double-ice, shard of double-ice
+> [0] Got shard of double-ice, shard of double-ice, shining halo, ten-leaf clover
+> [0] Got ten-leaf clover
-> Turn [0] none

My heart immediately sank upon checking the telescope, for it reveals what is possibly the worst tower I've ever encountered: disease, black pepper, bronzed locust, g-string and sonar-in-a-biscuit. The only way that could have been worse is if the sonar or locust was replaced by the NG. At least the gate wasn't a big deal (pygmy pygment), and the 6th level was the insignificant cow.

On the bright side, there were 3 locked doors in the daily dungeon today, along with a valuable airship bounty. A bounty that I completed, but forgot to use entirely. I should have used it to increase my item drops for filthworm / ratchet hunting. One clover day, otherwise.

As I was rusty with NP runs, I decided against the astral belt and just took the astral shirt to be safe, especially since smithing a hipposkin poncho isn't quite as easy since the ravamp. Also took astral hot dogs, since I didn't expect to have turngen issues.

[1] Lemon Party [0,0,0]
-> Turn [1] He-Boulder
[2] photocopied monster [13,7,20]
-> Turn [2] Mini-Hipster
=> Level 2 (Turn 2)! (3/3/5)

Got a rock & roll legend to cut down AT song costs as usual, which was followed by faxing & YRing a sleepy mariachi, which was enough to immediately bump me to level 2.

On a side note, it was also here that I turned three skeletons into the "weasel" buff, effectively granding 90 turns of +2 to all stats. Probably more useful than the quiche at this stage, and the leftover two skeletons would be used tomorrow to contribute to the skeletal skiff. Horaay for skipping the shore!

I believe I summoned my clip art items by this point as well: shining halo, frosty halo and bucket of wine. As I intended to do the entire run while unarmed, it allowed me to take full advantage of kung fu hustler as well as any of the halo bonuses, making things a lot easier. It made combat tougher, of course, and required depending on spells beyond the early game, but it was always worth it.

[3-8] Sleazy Back Alley [23,34,67]
+> [3] Got spider web
+> [8] Got Knob Goblin firecracker
-> Turn [3] He-Boulder
-> Turn [4] Mini-Hipster
-> Turn [7] Pair of Stomping Boots
=> Level 3 (Turn 7)! (5/5/8)
[9-15] Outskirts of The Knob [10,10,40]
+> [14] Got BRICKO bat, chef's hat
+> [15] Got Knob Goblin encryption key
o> Ate 1 fortune cookie (1 adventures gained) [0,0,0]
-> Turn [12] Fancypants Scarecrow
-> Turn [13] Mini-Hipster
[16-21] Spooky Forest [33,23,63]
+> [18] Got BRICKO bat
+> [20] Got Game Grid token
+> [21] Got mosquito larva
o> Used 1 Unconscious Collective Dream Jar (10 adventures gained) [30,25,31]
o> Used 1 goblin paste (10 adventures gained) [18,19,19]
-> Turn [17] Rogue Program
-> Turn [19] Unconscious Collective
=> Level 4 (Turn 18)! (8/8/13)
[22-29] Haunted Pantry [26,46,74]
+> [23] Got razor-sharp can lid
-> Turn [23] Mini-Hipster

Nothing really special here; used the mini-hipster's free combats here primarily, along with some of my free runaways and filling some spleen. Level ups came along the way quite easily as well, and it got rid of many of the low level tasks without much trouble.

Between the Unconcious Collective and boot paste, I was well covered for spleen, so the rogue program was used instead for little parachute guys (to improve MP management early on) and a few finger cuffs (as a backup mechanism during tough fights).

The first mistake I made here, though, was using the obtuse angel to use a badly romanatic arrow on a bricko bat. While the free stats are certainly nice, I'm not used to progressing very far on the first day of a class act run, and I would have been able to arrow a modern zobmie instead. Oh well.

[30] Haunted Billiards Room [0,0,0]
+> [30] Got pool cue, ten-leaf clover
[31] Guano Junction [0,0,0]
+> [31] Got sonar-in-a-biscuit, sonar-in-a-biscuit
-> Turn [31] Stocking Mimic
[32-37] Haunted Billiards Room [16,24,43]
+> [33] Got coconut shell, little paper umbrella, little paper umbrella, magical ice cubes
+> [33] Got magical ice cubes
-> Turn [37] Fancypants Scarecrow
[38-45] Haunted Library [34,57,127]
+> [39] Got inkwell
-> Turn [39] Unconscious Collective
-> Turn [40] Mini-Hipster
-> Turn [45] Baby Bugged Bugbear
=> Level 5 (Turn 40)! (13/14/20)

Both the billiards room and library went by almost flawlessly, which is quite surprising. I also used the opportunity to stasis with the stocking mimic to get some more MP to work with, and I even got a polka pop out of it. Convenient!
I also got all of the scroll components within two adventures, which is extra nice.

I also expended a clover for the first two sonars around here. Since I knew I would need an extra sonar for the tower, I decided to delay the rest of the level 4 quest until tomorrow. This would allow me to use another clover to get two more sonars, one to open the boss bat chamber and the other for the tower.

[46-48] Tavern Cellar [20,10,43]
+> [48] Got bottle of vodka, bottle of whiskey, boxed wine
o> Drank 1 CSA scoutmaster's (12 adventures gained) [22,27,26]
o> Drank 1 tobiko-infused sake (9 adventures gained) [7,6,8]
o> Drank 1 water purification pills (9 adventures gained) [28,28,33]
-> Turn [47] Mini-Hipster

I was somewhat concerned about what my diet would be for the day, having been rusty again, so I decided to hit the tavern a bit early, running the bugged bugbear in the hopes of finding a drunken rat king. What I found, however, was the non combat that gave basic booze, two of which were components for superhuman moxie drinks. That was covered quickly enough, so I left early and set up for the bedroom (while drinking some camp scout booze for quick stats).

[49-54] Haunted Bedroom [44,38,123]
+> [51] Got Lord Spookyraven's spectacles
[55] Haunted Ballroom [0,0,0]
[56-61] Haunted Bedroom [34,40,141]
-> Turn [60] Fancypants Scarecrow
=> Level 6 (Turn 61)! (18/19/29)

Having no more stat requirements for the bedroom means it can be accessed without much effort anymore. It renders candy hearts obsolete for the most part, but it is still a great change.

Sadly, the bedroom was handled too quickly, and the ballroom song was set on the very first turn. Normally great, but I didn't quite reach 6 yet (and I wanted to use my first semirare to secure the full elite goblin uniform at once), so I went back to the bedroom to powerlevel and get a bit more meat to work with. MP costs were still high, especially when one has to support several castings of inigos.

[62-69] Dark Neck of the Woods [34,43,72]
+> [63] Got ruby W, wussiness potion
[70] Dark Heart of the Woods [0,0,0]
-> Turn [70] Unconscious Collective

Upon hitting level 6, it was off to the neck of the woods in order to get the Ruby W (which came by easily as well) and farm a stash of hellion cubes for two days of hell ramen. Not sure why I switched to the heart randomly, but no matter.

[71-72] Cobb's Knob Barracks [10,17,29]
#> [71] Semirare: Knob Goblin Elite Guard Captain
+> [71] Got Knob Goblin elite helm, Knob Goblin elite pants, Knob Goblin elite polearm
[73-75] Cobb's Knob Kitchens [0,0,0]
[76] Cook [19,20,42]
+> [76] Got Cobb's Knob lab key, Knob cake

Woo for an easy outfit from the semi rare. I was short on MP and meat, so I decided to just suck up the turn cooking the cake. I wasn't sure why the collective was so unwilling to drop its second jar either.

[78-82] Dark Neck of the Woods [27,19,41]
+> [82] Got dodecagram
o> Ate 2 Hell ramen (50 adventures gained) [52,51,55]
o> Used 1 Unconscious Collective Dream Jar (9 adventures gained) [26,29,29]
-> Turn [81] Mini-Hipster
[83-88] Dark Elbow of the Woods [35,26,61]
+> [88] Got eldritch butterknife
-> Turn [88] Fancypants Scarecrow
[89-97] Dark Heart of the Woods [59,60,104]
+> [97] Got box of birthday candles
-> Turn [89] Slimeling
-> Turn [90] Mini-Hipster
-> Turn [97] Fancypants Scarecrow

Got the jar finally, and otherwise switched between getting hipster combats, ensuring I get the three hot wings for later and getting a bit of MP out of the slimeling. Also ate the hell ramen at this point, along with an extra fortune cookie and the bag of gorf (eh) to fill the rest.

[98] Hey Deze Arena [5,2,15]
+> [98] Got bus pass
o> Ate 1 bag of GORF (2 adventures gained) [0,0,0]
o> Ate 1 fortune cookie (1 adventures gained) [0,0,0]
[99-108] Belilafs Comedy Club [71,91,126]
+> [99] Got hilarious comedy prop
+> [100] Got imp air
+> [101] Got imp air
+> [102] Got imp air
+> [104] Got Victor, the Insult Comic Hellhound Puppet
+> [105] Got imp air
+> [106] Got Azazel's lollipop, observational glasses
+> [108] Got imp air
[109-117] Hey Deze Arena [17,18,48]
+> [110] Got bus pass
+> [113] Got bus pass
+> [116] Got Azazel's unicorn, bus pass
+> [117] Got Azazel's tutu, bus pass, steel margarita

Considering the really poor tower, I decided to expend the 19 or so adventures to get the steel margarita, just so I have that safety net to work with. As it turns out, it would have been greatly needed to ensure it remained a 3-dayer.

[118] Haunted Ballroom [0,0,40]
o> Drank 1 CSA cheerfulness ration (5 adventures gained) [40,45,49]
o> Drank 1 yellow brick road (22 adventures gained) [0,46,0]
-> Turn [118] Mini-Hipster
[119] Haunted Bedroom [0,0,45]
-> Turn [119] Fancypants Scarecrow
=> Level 7 (Turn 119)! (27/29/40)

Er, was a smidge short of level 7, so I drank up and resorted to 2nd floor zones to get the rest of the way. I didn't have any basic fruit, so the only superhuman cocktail I was able to mix was the one requiring tonic water. Oh well.

[120-128] Defiled Nook [28,36,195]
+> [120] Got skeleton bone, smart skull
+> [121] Got evil eye, skeleton bone, smart skull
+> [122] Got evil eye, skeleton bone, smart skull
+> [123] Got evil eye, skeleton bone, smart skull
+> [124] Got evil eye, loose teeth, loose teeth, skeleton bone
+> [125] Got evil eye, skeleton bone, smart skull
+> [128] Got evil eye, loose teeth, skeleton bone
-> Turn [128] Mini-Hipster
[129-133] Defiled Niche [25,29,85]
-> Turn [132] Angry Jung Man

Noting the 3-door daily dungeon, I didn't want to let it go to waste, and I still had a few dozen adventures left, so I went straight for the nook. I got the evil eye almost every time, surprisingly, so it went by quickly.

It was followed by using olfaction to sniff out the dirty lihc sooner rather than later (even if it took a little bit to find one). Also started charging the angry jung man ahead of time, so I would be able to use the jar on the mystic crackpot and access the Fear level for an easy digital key. Horaay for skulls being a ghost replacement that can be fought even during hardcore!

[134-138] Daily Dungeon [2,4,7]
-> Turn [138] Mini-Hipster
[139-145] Defiled Niche [60,80,112]
+> [139] Got yellow candy heart
+> [140] Got lavender candy heart
-> Turn [143] Angry Jung Man

5 turn daily dungeon, woo.

Also finished the niche in short order, and luckily summoned a yellow candy heart for tomorrow.

[146] Defiled Nook [20,13,33]
+> [146] Got skeleton bone, skeleton bone
[147] Defiled Niche [10,27,29]
-> Turn [147] Fancypants Scarecrow
[148] Beanbat Chamber [3,4,10]
+> [148] Got enchanted bean
[149-152] Haunted Bedroom [32,18,109]
-> Turn [152] He-Boulder
[153] Cobb's Knob Harem [5,6,6]
+> [153] Got Knob Goblin harem pants, Knob Goblin harem veil, disease, shard of double-ice
+> [153] Got shard of double-ice, shard of double-ice, ten-leaf clover, ten-leaf clover
o> Drank 1 bucket of wine (27 adventures gained) [28,22,27]

This was where it got tricky - I still needed a disease, and I was only a few turns away from being able to use a yellow ray again. I wanted to reserve some daily buffs like both VIP pool buffs for the other two crypt zones, so I handled what other business I could first. I took down the two sub bosses that were already up, visited the beanbat chamber to get the enchanted bean for later and spend the last few turns in the bedroom for a bit more levelling. Probably not the best choice, but I didn't have a better idea, as the ballroom was ineffective due to being a low level and not having olfaction available.

Otherwise, ended the day with YRing the harem girl for a quick disease, handling that portion of the tower, and nightcapping on a good note. Things went quite well! Too bad this wouldn't last.

===Day 2===

[154] Hippy Camp [7,7,8]
+> [154] Got box of Familiar Jacks, bucket of wine, filthy corduroys, filthy knitted dread sack
+> [154] Got furry halo
#> Turn [154] pulled 1 time's arrow
-> Turn [154] Obtuse Angel

A good start for today as well, it seemed. Two clovers, along with a daily dungeon containing two doors and almost entirely monsters otherwise. There was a triffid bounty too, but the airship one is much easier to get, so I stuck with that.

Got my summons out of the way early - familiar jacks for the obtuse angel, a furry halo for a couple runaways (no sugar tome, or I would've summoned a shield instead) and another bucket of wine.

Started off making that skeletal skiff and yellow raying a hippy for that outfit. Got a drum and hemp band (for a bonerdagon necklace later) to boot.

I also got more shards of double-ice to make a cap today, for that extra regeneration. In hindsight, it was probably unnecessary, since I'd be far more likely to use the spangly sombrero eventually anyways (and the pants would contribute MP regen part of the time as well). Comfort over raw speed, I suppose, at least this run.

[155] photocopied monster [7,9,17]
+> [155] Got BRICKO bat, sonar-in-a-biscuit, sonar-in-a-biscuit, ten-leaf clover
[157-163] Boss Bat's Lair [43,51,150]
+> [161] Got BRICKO oyster
+> [163] Got Boss Bat bandana, Boss Bat britches
-> Turn [156] He-Boulder
-> Turn [157] Fancypants Scarecrow
-> Turn [163] Happy Medium

It doesn't show properly, but I faxed and arrow'd a smut orc pervert, since it basically the new obligatory arrow target for the middle of the run.

Otherwise, with the extra clovers in hand, I was able to finish the level 4 quest and get some more meat to work with. Also fought a couple bricko beasts for some extra stats and enough bricks to make the bricko pants (aka improved volleychaun for the fancypants scarecrow).

[164-174] Defiled Alcove [84,75,223]
+> [164] Got loose teeth
+> [165] Got loose teeth
+> [169] Got loose teeth
+> [171] Got loose teeth, rusty grave robbing shovel
-> Turn [173] Unconscious Collective
-> Turn [174] Baby Bugged Bugbear
[175-187] Defiled Cranny [128,126,263]
-> Turn [186] Unconscious Collective
=> Level 8 (Turn 184)! (34/36/53)
[188] Haert of the Cyrpt [32,30,70]
+> [188] Got chest of the Bonerdagon, pink candy heart, skull of the Bonerdagon, vertebra of the Bonerdagon
+> [188] Got white candy heart, yellow candy heart
o> Used 1 chest of the Bonerdagon [150,150,165]
-> Turn [188] Pair of Stomping Boots

The alcove came next, which was fairly uneventful. Got some extra loose teeth, so more skeleton keys from that. Yay.

The cranny was less great, though, providing too few non combats, so I couldn't utilize the ML I was running. Hmph.

The bonerdagon wasn't much of a threat, of course.

[189-193] Spooky Forest [0,0,0]
+> [190] Got Spooky Temple map
+> [192] Got Spooky-Gro fertilizer
+> [193] Got spooky sapling
o> Used 1 gooey paste (6 adventures gained) [18,21,25]
-> Turn [193] Fancypants Scarecrow
[194-240] Haunted Ballroom [410,410,2665]
+> [199] Got dance card
+> [201] Got dance card
+> [205] Got dance card
+> [208] Got dance card
+> [209] Got dance card
+> [211] Got dance card
+> [216] Got dance card
+> [217] Got dance card
+> [219] Got dance card
+> [221] Got dance card
+> [235] Got dance card
+> [239] Got dance card
-> Turn [239] Pair of Stomping Boots
=> Level 9 (Turn 227)! (42/43/69)

I was still a bit shaky about extra ML, so I used the swimming pool for reducing combat frequency just before starting the cranny. It was used to wrap up the spooky forest as well, using my free runaways along the way (and a stomp for good measure).

Although I was level 8 already, I was hoping to split that quest between today and tomorrow so I could utilize my free mining to the fullest. As such, it was off to the ballroom nice an early! I think the gallery spoiled me, though, because it seemed painfully slow in comparison.

[241-243] Goatlet [16,20,36]
+> [241] Got glass of goat's milk, goat cheese
+> [242] Got glass of goat's milk, goat cheese
+> [243] Got goat cheese
-> Turn [241] Fancypants Scarecrow

Took care of the goatlet quickly, which didn't take much either, and I was set on milk for the next two days.

[244] Haunted Ballroom [0,0,195]
-> Turn [244] Slimeling
[245-247] Pirate Cove [7,7,25]
+> [247] Got stuffed shoulder parrot
[248] Haunted Ballroom [0,0,189]
[249-250] Pirate Cove [0,0,0]
+> [249] Got eyepatch
+> [250] Got swashbuckling pants

Although I hit level 9, I wasn't certain about how far I'd be able to progress with that quest either. I was hoping for some more muscle and black paint for the boo-clue tests, and I needed to be level 10 to ensure ur-kels would give 20 ML (granting 50 ML for a faster oily peak), so I decided to handle the cove instead. The outfit was collected quickly, thanks to the slimeling.

Random visits to the ballroom were due to using dance cards, by the way.

[251] Barrrney's Barrr [7,6,14]
+> [251] Got bottle of rum
[252] Haunted Ballroom [0,0,190]
o> Drank 1 CSA scoutmaster's (12 adventures gained) [29,23,30]
o> Drank 1 Mae West (18 adventures gained) [0,0,47]
o> Drank 1 Shot of the Living Dead (11 adventures gained) [34,0,0]
[253] Barrrney's Barrr [0,0,165]
-> Turn [253] Fancypants Scarecrow
[254] Hidden Temple [9,4,18]
[255] Barrrney's Barrr [6,11,10]
+> [255] Got bottle of rum
[256-257] Haunted Ballroom [5,12,211]
-> Turn [256] Unconscious Collective
[258-259] Barrrney's Barrr [5,8,17]
+> [259] Got bottle of rum, bottle of rum
o> Used 1 Unconscious Collective Dream Jar (10 adventures gained) [20,29,30]
[260] Haunted Ballroom [0,0,185]
[261-271] Barrrney's Barrr [117,120,404]
+> [261] Got bottle of rum
+> [265] Got bottle of rum
+> [266] Got bottle of rum
+> [267] Got bottle of rum
+> [268] Got bottle of rum
+> [270] Got bottle of rum
+> [271] Got bottle of rum
o> Used 1 Unconscious Collective Dream Jar (9 adventures gained) [23,26,30]
-> Turn [262] Angry Jung Man
=> Level 10 (Turn 262)! (44/46/85)
[272] Cap'm Caronch's Map [8,12,18]
[274-275] The Infiltrationist [0,0,0]
[276-277] Barrrney's Barrr [0,0,0]

The barrr followed, naturally, along with some drinking (got a happy medium cocktail during the alcove endeavor), sidetracking for the dance cards and using my second semi rare at the hidden temple for the stone wools. Gotta keep thinking ahead, at least to an extent. Took quite a while to get all 6 insults, though.

I hit level 10 during this process, fortunately, and managed to open the f'c'le without much fuss either.

[278-283] Daily Dungeon [9,17,39]
-> Turn [283] Mini-Hipster
[284-304] Fantasy Airship [298,316,719]
+> [288] Got metallic A, photoprotoneutron torpedo
+> [289] Got Tissue Paper Immateria
+> [292] Got filthy lucre
+> [294] Got coconut shell, little paper umbrella, little paper umbrella, little paper umbrella
+> [294] Got magical ice cubes
+> [301] Got Tin Foil Immateria
o> Used 1 twinkly wad (1 adventures gained) [9,8,8]
-> Turn [292] Nanorhino
-> Turn [293] Mini-Hipster
-> Turn [298] Fancypants Scarecrow
-> Turn [304] He-Boulder
[305-306] Itznotyerzitz Mine [0,0,0]
+> [305] Got 7-Foot Dwarven mattock
+> [306] Got miner's helmet, miner's pants
[307-323] Fantasy Airship [132,156,385]
+> [312] Got Gauze Immateria
+> [320] Got orange candy heart, pink candy heart
+> [321] Got Plastic Wrap Immateria
+> [323] Got S.O.C.K.
o> Drank 1 CSA cheerfulness ration (5 adventures gained) [43,45,50]
o> Ate 2 Hell ramen (62 adventures gained) [48,51,57]
o> Ate 1 bag of GORP (6 adventures gained) [24,24,27]
o> Ate 1 fortune cookie (2 adventures gained) [0,0,0]
o> Drank 1 prussian cathouse (21 adventures gained) [0,0,46]
-> Turn [308] Mini-Hipster
-> Turn [309] Angry Jung Man
-> Turn [316] Mini-Hipster
-> Turn [323] Baby Bugged Bugbear

After a visit to the daily dungeon, it was time for the airship! A painfully long airship at that, although I was well stocked with consumables at least.

When the yellow ray cooled down, I attempted to use it at the mine, but oddly enough, I got all three pieces between two non combats and a lucky pickpocket, so I didn't even need it there. I just zapped a random mech due to a lack of better ideas. :|

Also started mining for the day, with the intention of finishing tomorrow.

[324-334] Oil Peak [102,108,281]
-> Turn [334] Fancypants Scarecrow

Got the oily peak out of the way; running 50 ML between the radio (good thing it counts now), the bugged bugbear and ur-kels ensured that it only took 11 turns, and allowed for enough time to get the jar of oil without much fuss.

[335-337] F'c'le [15,20,83]
+> [336] Got ball polish
[338] Haunted Ballroom [0,0,239]
[339-341] F'c'le [18,16,61]
+> [340] Got barrrnacle
+> [341] Got rigging shampoo
[342] Haunted Ballroom [0,0,223]
[343-344] F'c'le [6,7,18]
+> [343] Got mizzenmast mop
-> Turn [344] Angry Jung Man

After that, I figured it was a good a time as any to get the f'c'le out of the way, along with being interrupted with more dance cards, but it was fairly uneventful. The quest becomes pretty easy when one can cap the drop

[345-349] A-Boo Peak [27,32,81]
-> Turn [348] Fancypants Scarecrow
[350-357] Twin Peak [22,31,78]
-> Turn [350] Pair of Stomping Boots
-> Turn [352] Fancypants Scarecrow

Resumed a bit of the level 9 quest as well. Adventured enough to get the first boo clue, and finish the twin peak quickly to get the wedding ring for 1 more adventure tomorrow. I used my remaining runaways for the day here as well, escaping from the non-topiary monsters. I also got an authority badge (+10 ML) out of the deal, which is certainly nice to have for the extra stats.

[359-383] Giant's Castle [460,230,550]
+> [360] Got furry fur
+> [361] Got heavy D, original G
+> [362] Got plot hole
+> [363] Got awful poetry journal, thin black candle

-> Turn [385] Fancypants Scarecrow
-> Turn [387] Mini-Hipster
=> Level 11 (Turn 388)! (58/58/104)

The castle was next, and while I got all of the items I needed fairly easily, it still took a bit of time to turn the wheel twice. It could have been worse, though.

Unfortunately, it still left me a bit short of level 11, so a quick drink and a few turns at the ballroom fixed that.

[389-398] Black Forest [106,112,263]

+> [397] Got black picnic basket
+> [398] Got empty meat tank, tires
-> Turn [392] Fancypants Scarecrow
-> Turn [393] Mini-Hipster

Ironically, it was not the black pepper that caused problems (the first black widow dropped a basket, which in turn gave two peppers), but rather simply needing too many adventures to find the black market map. Bleh.
Oh, and I realized around here that I never got around to making the meatcar to access the shore. Silly me.

[399-401] Muscle Vacation [0,0,0]
+> [401] Got Knob mushroom, Knob mushroom, Knob mushroom, Knoll mushroom
+> [401] Got Knoll mushroom, Knoll mushroom, Knoll mushroom, ten-leaf clover
+> [401] Got ten-leaf clover
o> Drank 1 bucket of wine (29 adventures gained) [31,41,20]
-> Turn [400] Pair of Stomping Boots

After ending things off with a quick vacation, the quest for the Macguffin was started at the end of day 2. I still had a lot left, though, so I was starting to doubt that I would finish by this point. :/
On a side note, I really need to remember to actually use the Nanorhino. I got used to relying on it for the increased stats for some class act runs (mostly moxie, since its YR benefit did not help when I had a he-boulder), but in NP, I suppose it is best utilized for the grey goo monsters for more substats. A clanmate reminded me of it today, but today was the only day I actually used said benefit. I need to make this a habit.

===Day 3===

Starting the day with about a hundred adventures, with a need to generate about 250 more in order to match my turngen from my last run. The grue egg omelette and three hot dogs would contribute most of this.

This was where the pressure was on, and I ended up making a few dumb mistakes along the way. It still worked out, though, even if barely.

It was another two clover day, which was a great bonus, and the daily dungeon was a decent one as well, with one locked door and three fights. No bounties worth mentioning.

[402-404] Fear Man's Level [9,14,26]
-> Turn [404] Exotic Parrot
[405-412] A-Boo Peak [9,12,35]
+> [405] Got ten-leaf clover
-> Turn [408] Fancypants Scarecrow
-> Turn [410] Exotic Parrot
-> Turn [411] Fancypants Scarecrow
[413-417] Fear Man's Level [27,16,79]

I had saved the psychosis jar I got yesterday to verify early on if it was a Jick jar day that day or not. Unsurprisingly, it was not, so it was immediately used on the crackpot mystic for access to the fear level, and thus a very quick (albeit with a few runaways) digital key. It is a much better alternative to the usual 8-bit zone, that's for sure.

I almost forgot that I had run a few once/day buffs, such as +50 HP from the mad hat tea party and the telescope buff, to increase my hp for the boo-peak tests, so I quickly sidetracked once I had the skull sniffed out. I had underestimated the final test on one of them, though, so I had to do a little bit more work to wrap up the zone (and thus the rest of the level 9 quest). Once that was done, I returned to the fear zone to finish the digital key.

[418] Desert (Unhydrated) [0,0,0]
+> [418] Got coconut shell, magical ice cubes, magical ice cubes, magical ice cubes
+> [418] Got magical ice cubes
[419-424] South of the Border [6,2,25]
+> [421] Got pickle-flavored chewing gum
+> [424] Got bottle of tequila, mariachi G-string
-> Turn [424] Angry Jung Man

After heading to the desert to unlock the oasis (in one adventure, yay), I decided to head to South of the Border to get that g-string out of the way sooner rather than later. I briefly considered using a fax for it, but decided against it since there was a chance that I would get the 2nd gate item on route anyways. I got two different pieces of gum and the meleegra pills before finding the irate mariachi that drops the g-string, and it could have been much worse than 6 adventures.

[425] Hidden Temple [0,0,0]
[426] Unknown adventure [0,0,0]
[429] Oasis in the Desert [0,0,0]
-> Turn [429] Mini-Hipster
[430-432] Desert (Ultrahydrated) [33,14,57]
+> [431] Got bronzed locust
+> [432] Got borrowed time, crystal skull
o> Used 1 borrowed time (20 adventures gained) [0,0,0]
-> Turn [432] Fancypants Scarecrow
[433-434] Oasis in the Desert [25,24,42]
+> [434] Got drum machine
[435] Limerick Dungeon [0,0,0]
#> [435] Semirare: The Bleary-Eyed Cyclops
-> Turn [435] Mini-Hipster
[436-439] Oasis in the Desert [42,43,130]
+> [439] Got stone rose
[440-441] Desert (Ultrahydrated) [30,23,62]
-> Turn [441] Angry Jung Man
[442] Oasis in the Desert [10,13,29]
-> Turn [442] Mini-Hipster
[443-447] Desert (Ultrahydrated) [73,67,147]
[448] Oasis in the Desert [0,0,0]
[449-452] Desert (Ultrahydrated) [39,33,97]
+> [450] Got bottle of tequila, bottle of tequila, bottle of tequila
[453-472] Oasis in the Desert [186,167,440]
+> [453] Got worm-riding manual page 1
+> [456] Got worm-riding manual page 2
+> [471] Got worm-riding manual pages 3-15
[473] Desert (Ultrahydrated) [0,0,0]
+> [473] Got bottle of rum, bottle of rum, bottle of rum, bottle of rum
+> [473] Got bottle of rum, bottle of rum, worm-riding hooks

After I took care of unlocking the hidden city (the temple adventures don't register on the log very well), I went to finish the Oasis quest and get that out of the way. Also took care of my clip art summons - borrowed time for a much needed boost in turngen, and a crystal skull to get rid of the useless A.M.C. gremlin and speed up that quest. I just saved the third summon for when I decided what to use it on, although it would have most likely been a crystal skull, once again due to a lack of better ideas.

The early parts of the desert quest went by smoothly, although I didn't have a spare clover to shave three turns here. I also used my third semi rare for cyclops eyedrops, essentially to speed up gathering filthworm glands & tomb ratchets later.

The RNG really got in the way after the stone rose, though, and ensured it took a very long time to finish the quest. I got the bronzed locust without any trouble (from a pickpocket, actually), but the superlikelies simply were not cooperative. I loathe nonsense like this that cannot be controlled, even if the mini-hipster fights helped a bit. It added a very significant turncount hit to the run, much to my dismay.

[474-475] Itznotyerzitz Mine (in Disguise) [0,0,0]
-> Turn [475] He-Boulder

I had almost forgotten about the mine as well, so I finished it off around then as well. Even spreading the free mining, though, I needed 12 excavations to get the three chrome ores I needed, so I had to spend two adventures a swell.

[476-481] Poop Deck [45,58,450]
-> Turn [477] Unconscious Collective
-> Turn [480] Mini-Hipster
-> Turn [481] Slimeling
[482-491] Belowdecks [105,107,268]
+> [485] Got BRICKO bat, BRICKO bat
+> [489] Got snakehead charrrm
+> [491] Got snakehead charrrm
-> Turn [491] Fancypants Scarecrow

The he-boulder was used only briefly for a red ray, since I was saving the yellow for the frat war outfit soon. Otherwise, aside from summoning some bats for more free stats, I went ahead with the Palindome unlock. The poop deck didn't take long (and yielded the stat-granting sea adventure as well, which was nice), but the belowdecks was less forgiving. It took 8 adventures to find a gaudy pirate in the first place, yet I still managed to find four grassy pirates in the process.
I ran a slimeling in an attempt to net the grungy pirate's guitar for the NS' lair, but I only found one, and he wasn't willing to give up his instrument.

[492-505] Palindome [355,343,740]
+> [492] Got photograph of God
+> [494] Got hard rock candy
+> [495] Got hard-boiled ostrich egg
+> [500] Got bottle of gin
+> [504] Got ketchup hound, stunt nuts
-> Turn [504] Mini-Hipster
-> Turn [505] Pair of Stomping Boots
[506] Cobb's Knob Laboratory [0,0,0]
-> Turn [506] Fancypants Scarecrow
[507-512] Whitey's Grove [26,33,66]
+> [509] Got bird rib
+> [512] Got lion oil
[513] Cobb's Knob Laboratory [0,0,0]
+> [513] Got Mega Gem, crystal skull

Fortunately, the palindome quest was much more reasonable, which offered some relief from a string of bad luck. It didn't take too long to find the ketchup hound & stunt nuts, and I got many substat-granting non combats along the way. I wasn't going to have a problem meeting the 70 myst requirement for the war outfit either.

Dr. Alarm came up immediately, and Whitey's Grove was probably about average as well.

[514-516] Orc Chasm [28,26,104]
+> [514] Got 33398 scroll
+> [516] Got BRICKO bat, lowercase N
o> Used 2 Unconscious Collective Dream Jar (14 adventures gained) [57,49,59]
o> Ate 3 astral hot dog (73 adventures gained) [613,577,705]
o> Ate 1 bag of QWOP (6 adventures gained) [0,0,0]
o> Used 1 bug paste (10 adventures gained) [22,18,24]
o> Ate 1 fortune cookie (2 adventures gained) [0,0,0]
o> Ate 1 grue egg omelette (30 adventures gained) [36,38,51]
o> Used 3 twinkly wad (3 adventures gained) [28,26,29]

I was debating around here how the third and final fax is best used. The pr0n for the 'n' was an attractive target, since getting that letter now requires sidetracking into a zone with too many monsters, but I went with my original plan of faxing in a quantum mechanic (a bit later on) in order to create a large blessed box and handle the third NS' gate with ease while avoiding the dungeons of doom (and thus room for a lot of screw). The folks over at /challenge said differently, though, claiming that faxing the pr0n is better while hunting for a wand in the dungeons of doom, removing the need for one or two daily dungeon trips. I can see the merit in that, but I had already done two dungeon runs today (and today's dungeon was modest as well), so I just stuck with my original plan in that regard. I'll probably try the dungeons of doom alternative in a future run.

The orc chasm was surprisingly quick, yielding the pr0n on the third adventure. I figured that here was a good a place as any to summon and use a crystal skull, finishing off my daily tome summons. It would have been ultrafondue normally, but my diet was already covered with the hot dogs, omelette, fortune cookie (for an inhaler) and a bag of qwop from yesterday.

[517-518] Haunted Ballroom [9,9,26]
[519-521] Haunted Wine Cellar [28,30,111]
o> Drank 2 mandarina colada (38 adventures gained) [0,34,62]
[522-532] Haunted Ballroom [46,57,979]
+> [525] Got dance card
+> [526] Got dance card
+> [529] Got dance card
-> Turn [532] He-Boulder
=> Level 12 (Turn 530)! (73/73/125)

The cellar was next, and it was opened quickly enough. I got the three dusty bottles of wine in three adventures, thanks to the friar's booze blessing, so I didn't need to dawdle there for very long.

Otherwise, I wasn't too far off from level 12 anyways, and I wanted to save enough quests and bosses to complete arena flyering anyways, so I headed to the ballroom to powerlevel the rest of the way. I got enough non combats and dance cards to make this quick, fortunately.

[533] Frat House [10,17,33]
+> [533] Got beer helmet, bejeweled pledge pin, distressed denim pants
-> Turn [533] Slimeling
[534] Hippy Camp [14,12,33]
+> [534] Got bullet-proof corduroys
[535-540] Wartime Hippy Camp (Frat Disguise) [72,75,198]
+> [539] Got round purple sunglasses
-> Turn [538] Mini-Hipster
-> Turn [540] Obtuse Angel

A quick yellow ray yielded the full frat warrior fatigues, as usual, and it didn't take very long to start the war either. I'm not sure why I ran the slimeling for part of the time, especially since I didn't have a spare fax / arrow for the nuns trick. I suppose it was more for the MP, even if I couldn't stasis here very well.

[541-575] Wartime Sonofa Beach [237,211,320]
+> [541] Got barrel of gunpowder
+> [566] Got barrel of gunpowder
+> [575] Got barrel of gunpowder
-> Turn [541] Jumpsuited Hound Dog
-> Turn [575] Slimeling

Ah yes, probably the biggest "fuck you" from the RNG I recieved all run. I only needed to fight two lobsterfrogmen, and I figured that between a 21 pound hound dog, musk, confrontation and a reodorant, it shouldn't take more than maybe 10 adventures. Right?

Well, the very first adventure (while running the angel to set up a badly romantic arrow) was a lobsterfrogman, at least, but the next one took a whopping 34 turns to find, despite having +13%, then +8% combat frequency running. It was so bad, in fact, that the 'second' lobsterfrogman I thought gave me immense relief, only to realize that it was the roaming lobsterfrogman. Damn it!

Needless to say, I was feeling rather furious by this point.

[576-584] eXtreme Slope [38,29,62]
-> Turn [578] Mini-Hipster
[585-588] Mist-Shrouded Peak [49,51,126]

The slope, and the rest of the level 8 quest, was nowhere near as painful, thankfully; the outfit came in only three adventures, which made up for the previous beach experience a little bit.

[589] Hidden City [13,19,33]
+> [589] Got barrel of gunpowder
-> Turn [589] Fancypants Scarecrow
[590-603] Hole in the Sky [168,174,398]
+> [590] Got star chart
+> [594] Got star chart
+> [599] Got star chart
-> Turn [603] Pair of Stomping Boots

Thanks to the mist-shrouded peak, I was able to time the second roaming lobsterfrogman to kick in for the hidden city, effectively giving a free exploration.

Otherwise, the hole in the sky was very quick this time around, offering an astronomer on the first adventure and allowing for others to subsequently follow over a longer period. Thanks to capping the drops again, it didn't take very long to gather all the stars and lines needed either.

[604-615] Hidden City [110,123,266]
+> [604] Got lavender candy heart, orange candy heart, pink candy heart, yellow candy heart
+> [614] Got barrel of gunpowder

The rest of the hidden city didn't take very long either, leaving five squares unexplored when I was done (much better than usual). I almost overlooked the pygment for the tower, though, but I fortunately recovered from that, and I still managed to have a few extra runaways left (mostly due to encountering a lot of non combats here).

[616] Next to that Barrel with Something Burning in it [14,12,28]
+> [616] Got molybdenum hammer
[617] Over Where the Old Tires Are [10,10,35]
+> [617] Got molybdenum crescent wrench
[618-619] Near an Abandoned Refrigerator [11,15,28]
+> [619] Got molybdenum pliers
-> Turn [619] Llama Lama
[620] Out By that Rusted-Out Car [13,19,28]
+> [620] Got molybdenum screwdriver

With that, the rest of the free runaways were used for the gremlins, which were also surprisingly helpful / complient. The runaways I had left were enough to minimize the number of turns required here.

[621] Giant's Castle [0,0,0]
#> [621] Semirare: All The Rave
-> Turn [621] Fancypants Scarecrow
[622] photocopied monster [7,8,14]
+> [622] Got ten-leaf clover
-> Turn [622] Mini-Hipster
[623] Hidden City (Altar of Pikachutlotal) [0,0,0]
[624] Hidden City (Altar of Squirtlcthulli) [0,0,0]
[625] Hidden City (Altar of Charcoatl) [0,0,0]
[626] Hidden City (Altar of Bulbazinalli) [0,0,0]
-> Turn [626] He-Boulder
[627] Lord Spookyraven [39,26,82]
[628] Hidden City (Smallish Temple) [27,54,74]
-> Turn [628] Mini-Hipster
[629] Palindome [39,32,77]
o> Drank 1 crystal skeleton vodka (19 adventures gained) [23,26,32]
-> Turn [629] Baby Bugged Bugbear

After getting my last semirare (inhaler, for the nuns) and finally fighting that faxed quantum mechanic, it was time to handle the palindome sub-bosses. They all fell without much trouble, unsurprisingly.

[630-633] Tavern Cellar [14,28,52]
+> [633] Got Typical Tavern swill, Typical Tavern swill, Typical Tavern swill
-> Turn [633] Fancypants Scarecrow

Since the crystal skeleton vodka gives both ML and extra items, I drank it just before entering the typical tavern so I could run more ML while finishing it off, primarily in the hopes of getting some tangles of rat tails. I found one tangle, which is better than none, and the first corner square I tried contained the faucet.

[634-635] Hatching Chamber [29,33,71]
[636] Feeding Chamber [15,16,33]
[637-638] Guards' Chamber [31,30,68]
[639-651] The Upper Chamber [174,174,435]
+> [639] Got carved wooden wheel
+> [640] Got tomb ratchet, tomb ratchet, tomb ratchet
+> [644] Got tomb ratchet
+> [645] Got tomb ratchet
+> [646] Got tomb ratchet
+> [647] Got tomb ratchet
+> [648] Got tomb ratchet
+> [651] Got tomb ratchet
-> Turn [651] Mini-Hipster

The filthworms came up next, expending all of my +item resources to offer a 50% chance at dropping the gland. As such, needing 5 adventures to get the third gland is about reasonable for this.

I had sniffed out the pygmy assault squad earlier, and had forgotten to dispel the 'on the trail' effect, so I couldn't use olfaction on the first tomb rat I found. I still had a turn of cyclops eyedrops running, fortunately, so I was able to use my one tangle of rat tails to speed up the ratchet collection a bit. It took a little while to find another rat to sniff out, but it went smoothly aside from that one hiccup.

[652-655] The Middle Chamber [47,50,103]
[656] The Lower Chambers (Token/Empty) [0,0,0]
[657] The Lower Chambers (Rubble/Bomb) [0,0,0]
[658] The Lower Chambers (Empty/Empty/Ed's Chamber) [0,0,0]
[659-665] Ed the Undying [169,166,378]

Reaching the middle chamber to place the wheel is equivalent to using the first two tomb ratchets, so I usually go for this initial placement before using the tomb ratchets en mass.

[666-674] Battlefield (Frat Uniform) [161,159,376]
+> [667] Got reinforced beaded headband
-> Turn [672] Fancypants Scarecrow
[675] Queen's Chamber [14,16,43]
[676-677] Battlefield (Frat Uniform) [35,30,74]
[678] Haunted Ballroom [0,0,324]
[679-681] Battlefield (Frat Uniform) [47,42,116]
[682] Haunted Ballroom [0,0,338]
[683-685] Battlefield (Frat Uniform) [48,38,114]
[686-697] Themthar Hills [165,178,396]

With everything else completed (and my remaining adventures quickly dwindling), I finally started my personal contributes towards the battlefield. I also used my leftover dance cards here in order to make it more likely that I would hit level 13 by the time I was done with the war, and it also included the battle with the filthworm queen.

It was around here that I realized that I forgot to use the polka pop I got from earlier for the filthworms, but they didn't really end up being needed there anyways. Since it also gives +55% meat drops, I used it to supplement the nuns instead, which helped complete that sidequest in only 12 adventures.

[698-700] Moxie Vacation [0,0,0]
+> [700] Got barbed-wire fence
[701-726] Battlefield (Frat Uniform) [479,400,930]
+> [714] Got bottle of whiskey, bottle of whiskey, bottle of whiskey
o> Drank 1 Mae West (22 adventures gained) [0,0,47]
[727] The Big Wisniewski [80,64,156]
+> [727] Got Boris's key, Jarlsberg's key
=> Level 13 (Turn 727)! (88/87/148)

I almost forgot about the angry cow on the 6th level as well, but I remembered in time to take a quick vacation for that (since taking one for the macguffin quest sets the cooldown to guarantee the barbed-wire fence). Otherwise, the rest of the war dragged on, but was still successful enough, and defeating The Big Wisniewski was just enough to bring me to level 13. Woo!

[728-734] Daily Dungeon [19,22,54]
+> [734] Got Sneaky Pete's key, ten-leaf clover
-> Turn [734] Star Starfish
[735] Lemon Party [0,0,0]
[736] Smith 1 banjo strings + 1 big rock [0,0,0]
o> Used 3 hair spray [12,19,40]
-> Turn [736] Fancypants Scarecrow

I only had maybe a dozen adventures left at this point, along with four drunkenness to spare. The first bang potion I tested, unfortunately, gave drunkenness, but only one, so it didn't have a very significant impact. Besides, I lucked out in that the 2nd gate required one of the two pieces of chewing gum that I had gotten from south of the border earlier (for the g-string), allowing me to use my final clover to obtain a stone banjo for the stone mariachis.

I remembered to do the third daily dungeon trip as well, securing my final key.

[737-741] Sorceress' Hedge Maze [50,46,105]
o> Drank 1 CSA cheerfulness ration (5 adventures gained) [40,43,50]
[742] Sorceress Tower: Level 1 [14,14,27]
[743] Sorceress Tower: Level 2 [8,10,37]
[744] Sorceress Tower: Level 3 [11,11,33]
[745] Sorceress Tower: Level 4 [8,15,32]
[746] Sorceress Tower: Level 5 [12,9,35]
[747] Sorceress Tower: Level 6 [15,14,26]
[748] Sorceress Tower: Shadow Fight [55,51,117]
-> Turn [748] Mini-Hipster
[749] Sorceress Tower: Naughty Sorceress [112,138,285]

The rest of the tower went by without much fuss. The hedge golems were surprisingly docile, only stealing a couple of maps, and the tower, shadow and NS were all trivial thanks to my class and skillset. Managed to complete the run with only 2 adventures and 2 drunkenness to spare; it is certainly a good thing that I got that liver of steel, that's for sure. Surprisingly, the final turncount ended up being 16 turns faster than my last 3 day HCNP run, which is a pleasant way to finish things off. Woo!

Going to have to try again without it at some point, though, in order to cut down my turn count further.

Turn rundown finished!
